Signature Flavor Spotlight: Super Sunflower

One of the most frequently asked questions about our ice cream is,

¿Que es el Super Sunflower?/ What is Super Sunflower?

Short version: A sunflower butter-based ice cream with chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, and chocolate sprinkles.

Long version: In keeping with our mission to craft an inclusive dessert experience, we sought experienced ice cream mentors who taught us how to make creamy, delicious plant-based ice cream from seed and tree nut-only sources. This was particularly exciting because it meant we could provide that ice cream experience to those with sensitivities or intolerance to coconut, for example. It also opens doors to exploring other plant-based ingredients and truly diversifying the main ingredients of our recipes.

So Super Sunflower is the first seed-based ice cream; the reaction was so positive that it became a fixed menu item. We always encourage people to try it because it is nuanced and hard to describe. We feel that saying "it's like a peanut butter cup but not" just doesn't do it justice. Sunflower is earthy, and definitely on the "nutty" side, but it also has caramel-like finish.
